Through its three separate brands - North Kiteboarding, North Windsurfing and Mystic - the group raises the bar for watersports with its dedication to technological innovation.

North Actionsports Group approached us after deciding to adjust their business strategy to a more e-commerce focused approach. They wanted brand new platforms for each of their constituent brands, but were concerned about the efficiency of running three websites simultaneously.

The brief: a scalable and easy-to-use solution encompassing three distinct brand names with a shared customer information database in the backend and the potential for global scaling.

The Shopify 2.0 solution.

Using the Ask Phill Starter on Shopify 2.0 we built three distinct e-commerce platforms from a single codebase. Hosting three websites on a one codebase allows for a sustainable and efficient approach to strategy building, North Actionsports Group can easily look after all websites simultaneously whilst giving each its own distinct look and feel through separate front-ends.

The design posed a specific challenge because we had to create something that could fit all three websites and all three brands. Our design team created a universal, content-driven solution that allows each brand to make its own imprint on the platform.

Shopify’s added flexibility from it’s 2.0 updates makes it the perfect environment for building the custom solution North Actionsports Group were looking for. And with native multilingual capabilities, the stores are perfectly placed to scale internationally and take the North and Mystic brands around the globe.

With increased use of HD video and imagery, the brand North Actionsports Group digital brand experience has markedly improved. Customers across all three brands are immersed in a unified brand experience that transports them to the aquatic world of North Actionsports Group.

The brand has full control over all three websites and a straightforward solution to update all simultaneously, keeping every customer facing branch on brand at all times. There is no overhead maintaining and updating multiple Shopify stores at once, giving the team more time and energy to focus on global scaling and pushing the business forward.
